He called my colleague a sexy bitch - now I am angry |
It is astounding that Aasmah Mir, the one time presenter and Masterchef participant has got so up tight about a phrase that she claims fell during the recordings of this program. Astounding too, that the Times, of all staunch conservative old school rags, believes the story is worthy of a long article highlighted in a teaser on the front page of their web-site. Why is Ms. Mir so angry? Is she jealous? Does it hurt her that she was not titled "sexy bitch"? She is not exactly a Sabrina Carpenter or Marilyn Monroe but she may well believe she has what it takes. Most will agree that beauty lies in the eye of the beholder so surely she has enough self esteem to believe that someone, somewhere might consider her worthy of the title. Amazing too the number of post publication commentators who were screaming for vengeance on her behalf. One can hear them with their withering camp accented, woke voices sobbing their precious little hearts away, almost drowned out by the sound of their enraged keyboard hammering. What may we ask has this country come to? Can one no longer call a spade a spade? What on earth is obnoxious about the term "sexy bitch"? Some would even have found it flattering. Do these woke people next want to start book burning? Should we search our attics for mildewed copies of "Lady Chatterley's Lover"? Are we back to a pre-Victorian era? Looks very much like a case of "look at me and buy my columns". |
