According to the Beeb: The suspected driver was able to follow an ambulance after a road block was lifted so a member of the public could be treated, officers add in an update. However if you tune in to BBC sounds and listen to the Jeremy Vine show (today is 27/05/2025) several people phoned in to say there was a total lack of police presence in the area. One lady, stated she was actually frightened even before the incident because she couldn't understand why thousands (it was up to a million according to other reliable reports) of people could walk down a road that had not been correctly cordoned off. How on earth c an any police chief in their right mind make such a fatal (there were no fatalities as yet) not have made the right decisions. We are living in the 21st terrorist century. God have mercy on us if that is the level of protection. Could it be that a total lackof foresight, which has caused terrible injuries to many people was the fault of the police? Our own obsevations, and of others, was that immediately after the car ran into, or in some cases over people on the road, that bystanders, rightly enraged, tried to smash the car windows, tear the doors open and get at the perpetrator. But the police in their hi-vis jackets seems to be rather uninterested. Sauntering around and definitely not getting involved. But that may just be our observation. An offical report will certainly come to some conclusions. |
