How to take away freedom of the press. |
How to take away freedom of the press After the disturbances following the killing of several young children at a Taylor Swift dance event the UK government issued warnings not to publish or reproduce any information they felt could cause hate or incitement. It went so far that people who still claimed they were just watching the so-called riots were given prison sentences. It also meant, if you followed "X" that people were decidedly frightened to publish any information that was not conform with Keir Starmer's rulings. We have already written about the constitutional problematic when the Legislative combined with the executive meddle with the judiciary. Separation of power being a pillar of democracy. So we decided to look at how the press was silenced by the NSDAP in the thirties in Germany. Just by the way. What we now refer to mainly as the Nazis and wrongly as far right was actuall the NSDAP - (German: Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei) in English National Socialist German Workers' Party. So in fact ultra left wing socialists. There is an amazing detailed documentation made by a German group known as DDB Studio. The documentation is not copyrighted, in fact they encourage its use, so we have translated the original into English and it is now available on the WessexTimes Web site. To be clear: there is no intention of claiming that the UK Government or any of its representatives can in any way be compared to Josef Göbels or any of the other NSDAP monsters. Nor do we suggest in any way that they are actively attempting to silence the UK press. Freedom of speech, freedom of expression followed by freedom of the press are probably the most important features of a democracy. Voltaire said: Je ne suis pas d'accord avec ce que vous dites, mais je d,fendrai jusqu'... la mort le droit que vous avez de le dire. I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it. Link to DDB Studie original German version. here Here Link to our translation. Here |
