Syrian killer from Solingen gives himself up.
Merz demands immigration stop

Germany Bild Zeitung reports

"Ich bin der, den ihr sucht" - "I am the one you are looking for".

Very few other details have deen publsihed other than that Bild states he is from Syria.

At a festival in the city of Solingen a man suddenly attacked people at random using a 30cm long knife. According to eye witnesses he deliberately aimed at his victim's throats.

Three people died and others were seriously injured. The festival was immediately stopped and German police armed with sub-machine guns were seen patrolling the streets.

Why the attacker decided to give himself up has not as yet been reported but it seems the authorities are sure he is the right person.

The islamic ISIS terror group has reported that they were responsible for the attack.

Friedrich Merz, leader of the German CDU party , demands the end of accepting Syrian and Afghan immigrants.

Friedrich Merz, leader of the opposition (CDU) party is now demanding a stop to all immigrants. Actually this is what the now so-called far right AFD were demanding for several years. It was the original basis of their existence.

Merz criticises the debate about tougher gun laws and a ban on knives, writing: 'It's not the knives that are the problem, but the people walking around with them. In the majority of cases, these are refugees; in the majority of offences, Islamist motives are behind them.'
