Two fingers to you guys. Pay your licenses but we're just resigning

Resigning is too easy.

A permanent escape route for the incompetent A deceit on the share holders and in some cases the tax payers.

Both Tim Davie and Deborah Turness have not fulfilled their duties. Worse still, according to various news sources their main objective was to cover up known weakness or rather failings due to the BBC reporting bias. Let's be clear, this is not just about taking a hit at the US president. The bias problems are ongoing and well known.

The Trump damage and presumably enormously costly compensation fight would probably bring even sizeable corporations to the brink of ruin. But these two "managers", I hardly dare use the word, just strut of with a pitiful "I'm sorry". I expect the pension is magnificent, which is why the resign. The BBC would not want to fire them anyway from fear of them running to one of our woke judges amd claiming they have been hard done by. Improper disnissal for example.

I get back to my old grunt that these type of people earn just too much in comparison with the risk they take, Maybe they will be shirked at the next cocktail party or not invited to a nice weekend in the Cotswolds but damage as one might rightly expect? No way.

When a self made entrepreneur makes a similar yearly income as Tim Davie, he does so with a permanent threat of losing everything. House, home, gold-watch, uxury items including a reputation which may mean he can never get started again. In many cases bankrupts are forbidden from being directors in the United Kingdom.

In 2025, the BBC generated approximately £3.83 billion from TV licence fees. This revenue primarily funds the BBC's television, radio, and online services.

So Tim and Deborah might have cost the Beeb a quarter of their income if Donald Trump sues successfully.

But again. They just walk away and snub their noses at us?
