Bad StyleLet me start at the out set that I will be looking at this incident and fallout that followed from an entirely different aspect to what one might expect. As far as Bias? I don't give tuppence for either of the teams which of course is fitting for a blues supporter. Let the children squabble might some up my feelings concerning the incident. As many will know there was an incident in the Manchester United penalty area where united's Cameroonian goalie AndrĂ© Onana ran out and collided with two of the attacking Wolves players. I firmly believe it boils down to who you regularly support as to whether you will joust for a penalty or not.Again, not really of any interest to me. I didn't have a wager on the game either.Re-winding to Friday thousands of football fans will have seen the half time scene between Manchester City and Burnley. For some reason, manager Pepp Guardiola was unhappy with whatever his super star Erling Haaland had done during the first half. One could see they way Guardiola was complaining to Haaland whilst they walked to the dressing room.  It was interesting to note that during "match of the day" Gary Lineker spoke out clearly that dressing a player down in full view of the public, both in the stadium and on TV, was bad style. Alan Shearer, pundit number two was more precise. He stated if he had been Haaland Guardiola would have heard two words, the second of which was "off". Ian Wright was in full agreement. So what has this to do with Monday's penalty or no penalty decision. Indirectly a lot. According to Sky Sports,Howard Web who's current job is chief refereeing officer. Sky stated "It is also understood that the head of Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL), Howard Webb, has been in touch with Wolves after the match to apologise". Boom!Assuming Sky would be able to back this statement up with some reliable facts, if that is not falling in the back of one of your own people, what is? If the report is true, then Webb should be seriously reprimanded. But of course by whom? With backing like that who on earth would ever want to be a PL referee? We know there are serious problems getting refs in the lower leagues because all they ever get is flak from all sides, but if the FA don't back up their refs in Public what will follow? If Howard Webb feels that Hooper made a cock up then he surely has plenty of opportunity behind closed doors to chastise him. Anything else is bad style.-pw- London 19.
